A conversation with our friend Nathan, who works in fire management, left us with a line we couldn’t stop thinking about: “Modern problems require modern solutions, but often need traditional methods.”
This month, we explore what that means for community and stakeholder engagement in a world of AI, deepfakes, online surveys and increasingly sophisticated digital tools. Technology can help us reach more people and make sense of more information, but it hasn’t replaced the value of sitting down with people, asking follow-up questions, reading the room and building trust through genuine relationships. In regional communities especially, relationships are often the real infrastructure.
We’re also sharing some of our recent training and facilitation work, introducing our new Grant Writer, Katie Burton, and highlighting a few funding opportunities on our radar.
