Client: Evolution Mining

Year: 2024

Project Overview

Evolution Mining engaged Wander to explore practical ways of strengthening its relationship with the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community through more accessible and community-focused engagement initiatives.

The organisation was seeking a practical engagement concept that could support stronger community connection, improve accessibility and assist internal conversations around future engagement opportunities without requiring significant upfront investment or complex delivery planning.

Strategic Engagement Concept Development

Wander developed the concept of a family-friendly Community Fun Day, designed as an approachable and accessible way for Evolution to strengthen community visibility, build trust and create more positive local engagement opportunities.

Rather than developing a detailed operational event plan, Wander’s role focused on strategic concept development and internal engagement framing; translating broader community engagement aspirations into a practical, achievable and easy-to-communicate initiative.

Internal Engagement & Organisational Buy-In

Wander developed a clear and accessible concept document that the Community Engagement Team could use internally to communicate the value, rationale and practical benefits of the initiative to decision-makers.

By simplifying the concept development process and packaging the opportunity in a clear, governance-friendly format, Wander helped reduce internal complexity and support stronger internal buy-in around the initiative.

The Outcome

This project highlights Wander’s strength in strategic engagement thinking, internal stakeholder communication and locally grounded engagement approaches, helping organisations turn community-focused ideas into practical initiatives with clarity, confidence and regional relevance.
